Longsight VP/COO Joshua Wilson Named Apereo Fellow

Updated: Jun 14, 2022

Longsight’s VP/COO Joshua M. Wilson has been selected by the Apereo Foundation to serve as an Apereo Fellow from June 2020 to June 2021.

During his tenure, Wilson will speak at Apereo conferences. His work with Longsight and the Sakai community will be featured on the Apereo website and through other channels for Apereo outreach and education.

“I am honored to be selected by Apereo to be a fellow for the coming year,” said Wilson. “Apereo plays an unparalleled role in the life of Sakai and in the open-source edtech community more widely. I’m looking forward to being even more engaged with the Foundation.”

The purpose of the Apereo Foundation Fellows Program is to acknowledge, celebrate and reward the contributions of these important Apereo volunteer contributors. The Apereo Fellows program seeks to foster community leadership and contribution through recognizing and supporting active contributors.

“It is amazing listening to Josh Wilson talk about the Sakai roadmap. There is literally no conversation in the world where there is more transparency between the builders and adopters of an LMS in terms of goals, objective, and outcomes,” said Dr. Charles Severance, Chair of Sakai’s Management Committee in a tweet.

Members of the Sakai Community bring varied expertise, including architecture, design and development of technology, best practices in teaching, learning, research and collaboration, and coordination of community functions.
